SWEET MARY, WHERE DID YOU GO? playing at HALLUCINATIONS COLLECTIVES in France!

I’ve been really thankful to have some great support in France for my films. Check out this beautiful summary (translated from French) of SWEET MARY, WHERE DID YOU GO? from the amazingly curated Hallucinations Collectives @hallucinationscollectives film festival in Lyon, where the film will be screening on Saturday April 12th at the Cinéma Comoedia:

“In a few images, we already know that we are facing a film that fits perfectly into the Hallucinations Collectives nails. What the director offers is nothing less than a pilgrimage into the unknown, which appeals as much to the senses as to reflection. The kind of Kubrickian work where the spectator is led to plug the holes, fill in the blanks and, ultimately, to put a lot of himself into the footage which dazzles with the plastic and evocative force of its images. To try to sum it up succinctly, imagine a crossover as appetizing as it is improbable between 2001, a Space Odyssey and nunsploitation”. See HERE .

Fantastic praise from TWITCH FILM for the Ladyhawke remix, music video:

So often directors trying to capture history on screen tend to fail their ambitions by making everything look brand new, or by mistakenly incorporating anachronisms, but here Kratochvil really succeeds in capturing not only the old look but also the mood and mannerisms of these gangs.

Now, whoever is writing a Mods vs Sharpies movie please give the directing reins to this guy. I think it’s high time we had a worthy successor to Romper Stomper.”
